In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the process of confiscation and demolition of Kashmiri properties continues unabated under administration headed by New Delhi-appointed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
According to Kashmir Media Service, occupation authorities have seized or demolished the properties of three more Kashmiris in Kulgam and Baramulla districts as part of New Delhi’s continued campaign.
Since the abrogation of the special status of IIOJK in August 2019, the BJP-led Indian government has intensified its campaign of confiscating and demolishing Kashmiris’ properties under various pretexts, including alleged involvement in pro-freedom activities and drug-related cases.
Meanwhile, Indian army personnel also launched a joint cordon-and-search operation in the Gambhir Mughlan area of Rajouri district.
President of the Peoples Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti has expressed serious concern over recent incident in Kulgam in which Indian troops reportedly used unarmed Kashmiris as human shields.
In a statement, she said that no action has so far been taken against responsible personnel, which is unfortunate.
