
In Afghanistan, Independent Election Commission says incumbent President Ashraf Ghani is leading in preliminary results of presidential elections.
Chairperson of IEC, Hawa Alam Nuristani told reporters in Kabul today that Ashraf Ghani has secured more than fifty percent votes while Abdullah Abdullah obtained over thirty-nine per cent votes.
Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, leader of Hizb-e-Islami has bagged only three point eight five percent of the votes.
Polling for the presidential election had held in September this year.
