In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Modi Government has once again barred people from offering Eid prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, marking the eighth consecutive year of such restrictions.
The gates of Jamia Masjid in Nawhatta area were sealed early today with Indian forces personnel deployed outside to prevent entry.
Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader and chief cleric of Kashmir, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, was again placed under house arrest. He was also prevented from offering Friday prayers at the historic mosque a day earlier.
Condemning the move on X, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said Eid prayers continue to be barred at Jamia Masjid through restrictions and house arrests.
