The International Nowruz Day is being observed today (Wednesday).

Proclaimed by the United Nations in 2010, Nowruz is an ancestral festivity marking the first day of spring and the renewal of nature.

It promotes values of peace and solidarity between generations and within families and reconciliation, thus contributing to cultural diversity and friendship among peoples and different communities.

Besides, four other international days proclaimed by the United Nations, are also being observed today (Wednesday) which include World Poetry Day, International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and the World Down Syndrome Day and International Day of Forests.
