A ceremony in connection with the launching of a documentary movie titled "Baarwan Khilari" on the life of renowned poet and scholar Iftikhar Arif was held in Islamabad today.
Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi was the chief guest of the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, he paid glowing tribute to Iftikhar Arif for his meritorious services in the field of poetry and literature.
He said Iftikhar Arif started his career in Radio Pakistan and also played a key role in popular programs of Pakistan Television.
Terming Iftikhar Arif as a shady tree of literature, Murtaza Solangi said his name is at the top of the list in the realm of poetry and literature.
In his remarks, Secretary Information and Broadcasting Zahoor Ahmed also commended the services of Iftikhar Arif in Pakistan Academy of Letters and Muqtadara National Language.
