Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and around the world are observing Youm-e-Ilhaq-e-Pakistan today.

The day is observed to commemorate the historic Resolution of Accession to Pakistan adopted by the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference in Srinagar on 19 July 1947.

The resolution marked a significant moment in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, when the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference approved the Resolution of Accession to Pakistan, determining the future of state in accordance with the aspirations of its people.

The historic resolution reflects the collective political vision, national consciousness, and unwavering ideological commitment of the Kashmiri people towards Pakistan.

The democratic decision formed the legal and moral basis of the Kashmiris' right to self-determination and continues to serve as the foundation of Kashmir freedom movement.

The resolution affirmed that accession of the state was fundamental right of people of Jammu and Kashmir rather than the decision of any individual.

The resolution remains the foundation of legal and moral position on Kashmir issue and a lasting symbol of national identity and ideological commitment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
