Pakistani female officer wins top award in Dubai for solving murder cases

In a historic achievement, Pakistani police officer Anum Khan Muhammad Sher has been honored with the prestigious Excellence in Criminal Investigation Award at the 2025 World Police Summit Awards held in Dubai.

The award was presented by Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, in a high-profile ceremony attended by police and security leaders from over 90 countries.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anum Khan, currently serving as Sub-Divisional Police Officer at Sargodha City Police Station, was selected from more than 900 submissions worldwide.

She was recognized for her outstanding leadership in solving two major murder cases in Punjab province, marking a significant milestone for women in law enforcement in Pakistan.

Her international accolade highlights the rising standards of professionalism within Pakistan’s police force and places Pakistan on the global policing map. Anum Khan’s achievement underscores the evolving role of women in modern policing, inspiring empowerment and gender equality in law enforcement.

The World Police Summit, now in its fourth edition, is regarded as one of the most prestigious global platforms for recognizing innovation, courage, and excellence in policing.

Lieutenant General Al Marri praised the high quality of this year’s entries and emphasized the summit’s role in fostering international cooperation among law enforcement agencies.
