In Afghanistan, two soldiers and 17 Taliban have been killed and six others injured when clashes flared up in Kunduz and Kandahar provinces.

According to Afghan officials, two soldiers and three militants were killed and one soldier and one militant injured when Taliban militants attacked an Afghan forces patrol in Chahar Dara district of Kunduz province.

In Kandahar province, 14 Taliban militants were killed and four others injured when Afghan forces conducted a cleanup operation in Zhari district.
