Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched digital portal for "Apni Chhat, Mehfooz Chhat" project to provide interest-free loans for strengthening unsafe houses across the province. 

Addressing launching ceremony, she said the project has been named in memory of the children who lost their lives in the Kahna roof collapse tragedy.

She said under the scheme, eligible citizens can get an interest-free loan of 500,000 rupees to repair and strengthen weak roofs, and up to one million rupees to build additional rooms or second floors.
