Govt takes steps to remove obstacles faced by industrial sector
June 16, 2026

Government has taken various measures over the last three years with the support of Special Investment Facilitation Council to remove obstacles faced by the industrial sector.

Through National Industrial Revival Commission, pathways were created to bring non-operational industrial units back into production.

Reforms such as tariff adjustments and improved access to raw materials and industrial machinery have also been implemented to promote ease of doing business and industrial growth.

In Gwadar North Free Zone, the first potassium sulfate fertilizer unit has become operational, and export approvals have been secured.

With the support of the SIFC, the long-stalled Saudi investment based National Steel Complex has been revived.

The SIFC played a key role in resolving long-standing regulatory bottlenecks, enabling approval for seven new cement plants.
