Kashmiris living around the world have rejected demand by outlawed Joint Action Committee to abolish the twelve refugee seats.
Chairman of the Human Rights Council for Kashmir, Dr. Syed Nazir Gilani, said the twelve refugee seats represent Kashmiris around the world. He said the Legislative Assembly of Azad Kashmir cannot be considered complete without the refugee seats.
Dr. Syed Nazir Gilani said abolishing the seats is not merely linked with twelve seats, but it is about the voting rights of two point five million Kashmiris. He said no one can abolish the rights of Kashmiris living around the world.
Dr. Syed Nazir Gilani said after the advisory opinion of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Supreme Court, there is no reason for the banned Action Committee to protest, and contempt of court proceedings could also be initiated against it.
