Amb. Waheed Ahmad (Former Diplomat): Visit of LebaneseMinister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Al Hajjar to Pakistan is very high profile visit after a very long. A large number of avenues of bilateral cooperation are present between Pakistan and Lebanon. I think that exchange views between Pakistan and Lebanon is very positive development in the context of Israeli incursions, attacks, strikes and killings of innocent Lebanese people. Exchange of view between Pakistani and Lebanese leadership is also very crucial to find out ways to help Lebanese people and to get some sort of peaceful resolution of the matter. In result of coercive diplomacy, Pakistan successfully brought both Iran and US to negotiation table and got a ceasefire MoU signed. Pakistan is still making efforts to bring peace in the Middle East. Pakistan is also making efforts for Palestinians so that they may get respectable and dignified living in their own state of Palestine. Actually, Lebanon is very important in issue of Palestine and occupied lands by Israel. I think that Pakistan and Lebanon have substantive avenues to promote bilateral cooperation in diverse sectors and fields.
