EU agrees to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030

European Union leaders have agreed  to set a target of cutting greenhouse gas emissions up to 55 percent by 2030.

In a tweet message, European Council president Charles Michel said Europe is the leader in the fight against climate change".

European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen has also said the target set by EU nations will put us on a clear path towards climate neutrality in 2050."
