Chairman of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority Bilal Bin Saqib has underlined the importance of bringing digital assets and related technologies under effective regulatory frameworks.

He was addressing an event on Digital Assets and Blockchain for Sustainable Development at the United Nations today.

Bilal Bin Saqib said clear and effective rules can help build confidence, protect users and create an environment in which digital financial technologies can develop responsibly.

In his remarks, Pakistan's Permanent Representative Asim Iftikhar Ahmad stressed that developing countries must have the capacity not only to adopt emerging technologies but also to benefit from them.
