37th Martyrdom anniversary of prominent Kashmiri leader Muhammad Maqbool Butt was observed on both sides of the Line of Control today (Thursday ) with the renewed pledge to continue struggle till the realization of  right to self-determination.

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government announced to observe Youm–e-Azam-e-Nu today (Thursday) to pay tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs.

It was a public holiday in Azad Kashmir today (Thursday).

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed, today, on call by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and other pro-freedom organizations.

India had hanged Muhammad Maqbool Butt in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail on this date in 1984 for his leading role in the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement and buried him in the premises of the prison.
