The Steel Cutting Ceremony of two Pusher Tugs of Pakistan Navy was held at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works in Karachi.
Addressing the ceremony, Commander Coast Vice Admiral Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani said efforts of Pakistan Navy and Karachi Shipyard to promote the shipping industry are commendable.
He said Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works has built various modern warships.
The Commander said this project is a solid step towards government's policy to achieve self-reliance in defense production.
According to the spokesman of Pakistan Navy, both Tugs would be equipped with latest technology, with the length of 21 meter and maximum speed of ten Knots.
