Acting President Yousaf Raza Gilani launched Senate's Mobile Application in Islamabad today.

Speaking on the occasion, he described the initiative as an important step towards making the Senate more modern, efficient and responsive. He expressed confidence that the launch of the mobile application would have a transformational impact on the working and performance of the Senate and its members.

He said this represents a strategic shift as well as a shared commitment to ensuring that the Upper House keeps pace with the time and technology. 

Acting Chairman Senate Sardar Syedaal Khan said the Senate's Mobile Application is part of a broader effort to make the internal system of the upper house modern. He said this initiative will further strengthen the connection between the people and the Upper House.

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary said a modern parliament must not only make good laws but must also have modern systems through which these laws are debated, scrutunized, recorded and communicated. He said the mobile application will make the parliament more citizen centric.

In her remarks, Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima highlighted the government's efforts for digital transformation. She said the ministries have gone paperless and the Senate will also follow the suit.
