Pakistan has called for an end to the economic, commercial and financial embargo on Cuba.
The call was made by Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN Asim Iftikhar Ahmad while speaking during the second debate of the UN General Assembly on the agenda item, “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”.
The Ambassador said lifting the embargo would help alleviate the humanitarian situation, enable the Cuban people to realize their right to development and prosperity and reaffirm the principles of multilateralism and international cooperation.
