Culture Day of Sindh was celebrated today [Sunday] with traditional enthusiasm to highlight the centuries-old rich culture of the province.

The day is celebrated every year on the first Sunday of December.

Different programs and rallies were held across the province to mark the day.

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari has said that Sindh's culture embodies tolerance, peace and national unity, and emphasized that it is the collective responsibility of the nation to pass these values on to the next generation.

In his message on the occasion of Sindhi Culture Day, the President noted that Sindh earned the distinction of establishing a unique constitutional and cultural identity after its separation from the Bombay Presidency in 1936.

He highlighted that Sindh was the first province whose assembly played a pivotal role in history by passing the resolution calling for the creation of Pakistan.

Asif Ali Zardari said that Sindhi Culture Day serves as a reminder of the importance of promoting cultural values such as tolerance, pluralism and peaceful coexistence.

He said that Sindhi is one of the most developed languages in the country, supported by dozens of newspapers, television channels and radio stations that safeguard its rich literary and cultural traditions.

The President also noted that Sindh's large Urdu-speaking population further strengthens the province's reputation as a symbol of harmony, diversity and open-mindedness.

In a message in connection with the day, the Governor Kamran Khan Tessori said a message of love and brotherhood is spread from the great land of Sindh province.
