
The spillway operation at Khanpur Dam, constructed on River Haro, will commence today.
According to National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the maximum storage capacity of the dam is 1982 feet. The water level at the dam has risen to 1981.55 feet.
The expected discharge during the operation will range between 6,800 to 7,500 cusecs, which is subject to adjustment in accordance with prevailing hydro-meteorological conditions in the catchment.
All departments and stakeholders concerned have been advised to remain vigilant and ensure the adoption of all requisite precautionary and safety measures.
