APHC thanks Pakistan for observing August 5 as Youm-e-Istehsal
August 06, 2025

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has expressed deep gratitude to the Government and people of Pakistan for observing August 5 as Youm-e-Istehsal.

The APHC termed it a strong gesture of solidarity and urged the international community to take urgent notice of human rights violations in the occupied territory.

Meanwhile, in Washington, mobile digital billboards with messages like "End India's Settler Colonialism in Kashmir" and "Kashmir Facing Existential Threat: United States Needs to Act" were displayed.

These were part of a global awareness campaign by the World Kashmir Awareness Forum and other Kashmiri organizations.

Protests and awareness events were also held in major cities including London, Brussels, Istanbul, Toronto, and New York, where activists and diaspora members condemned India’s actions of August 5, 2019, and reiterated their support for the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

India has deployed over twenty five additional companies of the Central Reserve Police Force and two units of CoBRA commandos in the Kathua, Udhampur, and Samba districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The deployment is in addition to the already stationed Indian Army units, including two full brigades in Kathua. Analysts say this move is the broader plan to militarize the territory and suppress the Kashmiris’ indigenous struggle for freedom.

In a parallel development, a Special NIA Court in Jammu has framed charges under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act against three Jamaat-e-Islami activists and the Al-Huda Educational Trust in Rajouri.

The accused are being targeted for allegedly collecting donations to support humanitarian activities in the occupied territory.

In Kulgam district, Indian forces continued their massive cordon and search operation in the Akhran Devsar area for the sixth consecutive day. The siege has trapped civilians in their homes, causing immense hardship.
