Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani has said the government is working to remove bottlenecks and facilitate small and medium enterprises in accessing finance.
Addressing a conference organized by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) in Islamabad today, he said a financing facility has been prepared to support the long-term growth of exports.
Under the facility, exporters can obtain loans to purchase machinery and equipment at an interest rate of two percent for the first two years and five percent for the next eight years.
The Minister of State said an Export Facilitation Scheme is also in place, allowing exporters to import inputs duty-free.
Bilal Azhar Kayani emphasized the need for sustainable and inclusive economic growth, saying that boosting exports is essential to achieving this goal and avoiding boom-and-bust cycles.
