
Pakistan has welcomed the Syrian government’s commitment to addressing chemical weapons-related activities on its territory.
The remarks were made by Deputy Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN Usman Jadoon while speaking at the United Nations Security Council Briefing on the Middle East.
Usman Jadoon said the progress achieved under the new Syrian government deserves recognition and encouragement.
He underscored that the international community should complement Syria’s efforts by providing the necessary technical assistance, expertise and capacity-building support to facilitate the resolution of the outstanding issues.
He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Syria.
