Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the firing incident targeting police personnel deployed to protect an anti-polio team in Mohmand district.

In a statement, he paid tribute to those who embraced martyrdom in the incident.

The Prime Minister prayed for the elevation of the martyrs' ranks and expressed his condolences to their bereaved families.

He said anti-polio workers, along with the police and security personnel protecting them, are performing a national duty and playing their role in ensuring a safe future for the nation.

Shehbaz Sharif described such terrorist attacks as highly deplorable and condemnable and reaffirmed the government's commitment to completely eliminating all forms of terrorism from the country.
