Punjab eager to learn from Spain's experience in climate change: Maryam

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has evinced interest in benefiting from the Spanish city of Barcelona's experience in urban planning, particularly in making roads and public spaces more people-friendly.

She expressed this interest at a meeting with Ambassador of Spain Carlos Aragon Gil de la Serna in Lahore today.

The Chief Minister said Punjab also wants to benefit from Spain's experience in dealing with climate change challenges and smog.

She appreciated Spain's decision to recognize the State of Palestine and paid tribute to the Spanish government for the initiative.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif proposed the formation of a joint working group to address challenges relating to forest fires, air pollution, and heatwaves.

The Spanish Ambassador expressed his interest in further strengthening cooperation between Spain and Punjab.
