President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have congratulated the newly elected office bearers of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE).                      

In their separate messages today, they expressed best wishes for the newly elected office bearers of the Council.

Underlining that media should play its role in preventing fake news and misinformation, the President hoped that the CPNE will play its role in promoting journalistic values.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed the hope that the newly elected office bearers of the Council will continue to play their role in upholding high journalistic standards in Pakistan.
