The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has appealed to the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Kashmiris living all over the world to observe August 5, Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, as Black Day.

In a statement issued in Srinagar today, the APHC spokesman, Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, has appealed to the people to convey a strong message to the world that Kashmiris do not accept India’s illegal occupation of their motherland and will continue their struggle till the achievement of their inalienable right to self-determination.

He said the people of IIOJK will continue their struggle till they achieve their legitimate right through the implementation of the relevant UN resolutions.

The APHC spokesman said that the August 5 illegal action was an attack on Kashmir’s unique identity, culture and demography.

Meanwhile, other APHC leaders and parties, in their statements, have appealed to the global community to intervene and stop the bloodbath in Jammu and Kashmir.

On the other hand, Indian authorities have intensified restrictions across Srinagar and several parts of south Kashmir, subjecting residents to increased checkpoints, frisking and search operations.

According to Kashmir Media Service, additional checkpoints have been established at key entry and exit points of Srinagar, where Indian police and paramilitary personnel are conducting extensive vehicle searches, identity checks and frisking of commuters. Surveillance has also been heightened around major roads, public installations and key intersections, while random checking drives have been launched at multiple locations, causing inconvenience to the civilian population.
