The 28th death anniversary of prominent Pakistani poet and translator of the English language, Taufiq Riffat, was  observed today (Sunday).

Taufiq Riffat's first poetry collection was published under the title "Arrival Of The Monsoon". He also translated the poetry of Baba Bulley Shah and Qadir Yar into English.

In 1998, the Pakistan Academy of Letters gave him the Prime Minister's Literary Award for his poetry collection "A Selection".
