
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has underscored the need to strengthen the country's resilience against recurring natural disasters, given its vulnerability to climate change.
He was chairing a high-level meeting at the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) of the NDMA in Islamabad today on the establishment of a Joint Pak-Global Tech Facility.
Ishaq Dar called for the effective use of digital technologies to shift from a reactive response to early warning and preparedness.
He also stressed the efficient and coordinated implementation of agreed plans.
During the meeting, Chairman NDMA Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik briefed participants on the National Emergencies Operation Centre's role in disaster monitoring, early warning, preparedness, and coordinated response.
He outlined NDMA's Next Generation Technology project and plans to establish the Global Resilience Hub for international cooperation in proactive disaster management
