Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to integrating CPEC with the ECO, Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) and SCO member countries to establish a durable Eurasian economic bridge.

He expressed this resolve while speaking at a high-level panel discussion at the Azerbaijan International Investment Forum in Baku.

The Minister also expressed Pakistan's resolve to expand public-private partnerships and advance paperless TIR customs digitalisation.

He articulated Pakistan's strategic approach toward regional economic stability, trade connectivity, and infrastructure development.

He highlighted pressing global macroeconomic challenges, including inflationary pressures on fuel and maritime freight, alongside geopolitical disruptions affecting traditional trade corridors.

Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized that Pakistan has proactive national austerity measures and stringent fiscal discipline in place to cushion public finances and maintain economic resilience during times of global uncertainty.

He said Pakistan is positioning itself as a neutral diplomatic venue and constructive mediator during regional conflicts to de-escalate tensions and ensure long-term trade continuity.

The Minister said Pakistan's deep-sea ports, Karachi Port, Port Qasim and Gwadar Port, remained fully operational to ensure uninterrupted global supply chains.

The panel discussion also featured key international dignitaries, including Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and Türkiye's Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek.

The Economy Ministers and senior leadership from Uzbekistan, North Macedonia, Syria, Tajikistan, and Montenegro also attended the panel discussion.
