Speaker of the People's Majlis of the Maldives Abdul Raheem Abdullah has expressed the resolve to further expand trade and economic cooperation with Pakistan.

He expressed this determination during his visit to the Capital Office of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Islamabad today.

He was accompanied by a parliamentary delegation from the Maldives.

Abdul Raheem Abdullah said there is considerable scope for creating more opportunities for Pakistani businesses and products in the Maldivian market.

He said Pakistan and the Maldives could also expand cooperation in tourism, hospitality and services.

The Maldivian Speaker said his country wants to further strengthen its engagement with Pakistan's business community.

Earlier, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Atif Ikram Sheikh welcomed the Maldivian parliamentary delegation and emphasized the significant potential for expanding bilateral trade, investment and business-to-business relations.

He also invited Maldivian investors to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan.
