Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi is a popular Folk Singer of Pakistan, who was born on 19th August 1951 in a village of Esa Khai of District Mianwali, Punjab. Attaullah’s original name was Attaullah Shaheen. His father’s name was Ahmad Khan Niazi. He is also known as 'lala' which means "elder brother" in Pashto and Punjabi. He is a Pakistani Award-Winning Musician. He is traditionally considered a Saraiki artist, but his music albums are in both Saraiki and Punjabi/Urdu. Due to his voice and style of singing with pain, hence he was often declared as “the Ambassador of pain”.
He has recorded 600 albums. The total number of songs therefore would be thousands in number. Attaullah's hits include Qameez Teri Kaali, Idhar Zindagi ka Janaza,Raatan, We Bol Sanwal, Ishq Main Hum Tumain Kya Batayain, Theva Mundri tha Theva, Sabh Maya Hai, Woh Bahar Ka Zamana, Mahi Wasey Mera and Aaaj Kala Choda Pa.
The Government of Pakistan awarded him the Pride of Performance Award in 1991. He also awarded Lifetime Achievement award from the Queen of England. He entered the Guinness Book of World Records for the highest number of recorded albums as a Singer.
