The Chairman Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority, Muhammad Saleem Baig has directed the officers to exercise zero tolerance against Indian DTH receivers and Indian contents as per order of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

He issued these directives while visiting regional office of PEMRA in Karachi on Tuesday.

During the visit, the Regional General Manager briefed the Chairman about the ongoing crackdown being carried out by PEMRA in close coordination with other law enforcement agencies against Indian DTH.

He said a large number of illegal equipment has been seized including 1853 satellite receivers.

The Chairman PEMRA lauded the efforts of field staff and stressed upon them to make this drive more effective and successful.

During his visit, the Chairman PEMRA also held a meeting with the representatives of the cable operators of Karachi and asked them to strict comply with the orders of the Supreme Court.
