Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, today.

Upon his arrival at the ceremony, the Prime Minister was received by the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Japarov.

Other heads of state who are in Bishkek to attend the SCO Council of Heads of State (CHS) Meeting also participated in the opening ceremony.

A contingent of Pakistani athletes is also participating in the Nomad Games. Upon the arrival of the Pakistani contingent, the Prime Minister stood up to applaud and pay tribute to them. The spectators present in the stadium also cheered for them.

The World Nomad Games are an international sporting event featuring traditional sports of Central Asia.

The Nomad Games consist of traditional sports rooted in the cultures of various Central Asian nations, such as wrestling, horse racing, traditional animal hunting, archery, and intellectual games. Pakistani athletes will also take part in various sports.

The 6th World Nomad Games are being held in Kyrgyzstan from today until the sixth of next month. The core objective of these games is to promote cultural ties, mutual understanding, and cooperation among the people of different countries. 

During the event, the Prime Minister held informal meetings with various participating presidents, prime ministers, and global leaders.

He interacted with Russian President Vladimir Putin, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, and Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The Prime Minister also held informal meetings with Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon, President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, Togo's President Faure Gnassingbé, and Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh.

During these meetings, matters of mutual interest and Pakistan's bilateral relations with these countries were discussed.
