IIOJK: India sends armoured vehicles to suppress Kashmiris’ freedom struggle
January 31, 2024

The Narendra Modi-led government has escalated its military presence in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir by dispatching armoured vehicles to suppress the Kashmiris’ just struggle for securing their internationally-recognized right to self-determination.

These high-tech Light Specialist vehicles have been sent in with the aim of reinforcing the presence of Indian troops already deployed in occupied territory.

This decision comes in the wake of failure of the Indian government to suppress the freedom movement through different coercive measures, spanning over seven decades.

However, the Kashmiri people persist in their unwavering commitment to securing their right to self-determination, regardless of brutal Indian tactics.

On the other hand, illegally detained senior APHC leader, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, in a message from New Delhi’s Tihar Jail has called upon the United Nations to intervene and resolve the Kashmir dispute.

He highlighted the altered demographic landscape since the illegal actions of August 5, 2019, emphasizing the UN's crucial role in preventing potential ethnic cleansing and genocide in the Muslim-majority territory.

Meanwhile, the notorious Special Investigation Unit of Indian police has filed a chargesheet against three Kashmiris, Showkat Ali Awan, Ahmed Din Khatana and Muhammad Sideeq Khatana, under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

This action is part of the Modi regime's broader strategy to suppress the dissent in the territory.

Continuing its punitive measures against those associated with the freedom movement, the occupation regime has seized an under-construction house in Kulgam and a residence in Jammu.

This systematic confiscation of property aims to render the Kashmiris homeless, inflict economic hardship, and coerce them into renouncing their support for the freedom struggle.
