Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency has asked Election Commission of Pakistan to design and execute special campaigns to educate the youth about the importance of their vote in elections.

In a statement on Tuesday, citing the Gallup Pakistan data regarding low youth voter turnout, the organziation said the youth voter turnout was even lower than women during the past two elections.

The PILDAT suggested the creation of a dedicated wing or designating a focal person within the Election Commission to focus continuous attention on Youth participation in the electoral process.
