A two-day training workshop for young comperes, radio jockeys, newsreaders, and interns in professional broadcasting began at the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, Multan, today as part of a nationwide youth capacity-building initiative envisioned by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.

In line with the Minister's vision, Radio Pakistan is organizing a series of professional training programmes at its stations across the country to provide young people with practical exposure to broadcasting and equip them with modern communication skills.

The initiative is aimed at utilizing PBC stations as platforms for identifying, training, and mentoring emerging talent, with particular emphasis on professional standards, responsible communication, and contemporary broadcasting techniques.

Addressing the inaugural session of the workshop, titled "Professional Development and Modern Techniques," via video link, Director General, Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, Saeed Ahmed Shaikh said Radio Pakistan has launched the training series across the country to harness the potential of young talent and prepare them for the evolving requirements of modern media.

He said the initiative, being implemented in accordance with the vision of the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, would help improve the communication skills, confidence, and intellectual development of Generation Z.

The Director General said Radio Pakistan has historically played an important role in discovering and nurturing talent and has introduced many personalities who later earned distinction in television, film, and other fields.

Saeed Ahmed Shaikh said the new series of training workshops is intended to revive and strengthen that tradition by opening Radio Pakistan's professional platforms to aspiring young broadcasters across the country.

During the two-day workshop, participants are being provided practical training in professional broadcasting, presentation, voice modulation, news reading, radio jockeying, and effective and responsible communication.

The training programme is part of PBC's broader effort to develop a new generation of skilled broadcasters and provide young people with opportunities to learn directly from experienced media professionals.
