Waheed Ahmad (Former Diplomat):Chairmanship of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) for Pakistan is a very good opportunity to highlight Pakistani narrative on regional and international issues before the international community. On the basis of Pakistan’s recent mediatory role between US and Iran, Pakistan can enormously benefit from this platform. Now Pakistan can also play role as a regional peacemaker by mobilizing SCO platform. Pakistan has already shown its positive posture to the world by convincing US and Iran to negotiation table. So far as Indian conduct is concerned, Indian approach and attitude towards BRICS and SCO is very low and negative as India is not giving due importance to both these organizations. It is also obvious from recent BRICS summit by host India where guest leaders were forced to have vegetarian food and President Xi boycotted the dinner hosted by Modi. Modi also posed to be a global leader but failed to create an impression of a world leader as things went to the other way. Therefore, India came under severe criticism for failing in organizing BRICS summit in an appropriate manner.
