Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has directed the National Highway Authority to ensure road safety through improved engineering in the construction of new highways.

Chairing a meeting in Islamabad today, he said the NHA has successfully achieved the revenue enhancement target set two years ago, enabling it to undertake new road projects through revenue generated from existing sources.

The Minister directed the NHA to engage foreign experts for improved road engineering and better highway design.

He said NHA's engineering staff should adopt international best practices and develop motorways that are safer and more comfortable for motorists.

The meeting discussed progress on various projects.
