World Day Against Trafficking in Persons is being observed today to raise awareness about the plight of human trafficking victims and to promote and protect their rights.

The theme for this year's observance "Trapped Behind the Scam." highlights the growing threat of human trafficking linked to online scam operations run by transnational organised crime groups.
