GB Council approves policy for auction of next generation mobile services spectrum

The Gilgit-Baltistan Council has approved policy directive for the auction of next generation mobile services spectrum to provide better communication facilities to the people of GB.

The approval was accorded at its 12th session held in Islamabad today (Friday) with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair.

The meeting also approved GB Council (Election) Rules 2021 under which six members of the council will be elected.

The Council approved appointment of Session Judge Ghizar Minhas Hussain as the Judge banking and Customs Court Gilgit-Baltistan as well as additional charge of Judge National Accountability Court GB. 

After formal approval of the agenda, the GB Chief Minister gave a detailed briefing to the Prime Minister about latest situation as a result of recent rains and relief measures.

The meeting also held detailed discussion on utilizing full potential of the tourism sector in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan emphasized on setting up of modern infrastructure in Gilgit-Baltistan and provision of training to local population to promote tourism. He said GB has great potential for tourism and local population can get better economic opportunities by fully promoting this sector.
