Chairman of the National Tourism Coordination Board Zulfi Bukhari says the development of the tourism sector in Pakistan is the first priority of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He was addressing in an important meeting of the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization through video link.

Zulfi Bukhari said Pakistan has finalized a 10-year policy to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism. He said a five-year action plan has also been devised in this regard.

He said SCO member countries can play a vital role in reviving the tourism industry.

Zulfi Bukhari stressed on the sharing of information between member countries for the promotion of tourism.

The purpose of the meeting was to revive tourism activities in developing countries.

Ministers for Tourism from Pakistan, India, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the challenges facing the tourism industry in member countries due to Corona pandemic.
