Pakistan is open for digital business: DPM

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has said Pakistan is open for digital business.

Addressing the two-day Digital Foreign Direct Investment Forum in Islamabad on Wednesday, he emphasized that Pakistan offers a compelling proposition to global investors with investor friendly policies. He said Pakistan has an ideal environment for the businesses for sustainable and profitable growth. He expressed the confidence that this forum has the laid the foundation for transformative partnerships.

The Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed commitment to shaping digital policy, enabling inclusive innovation and acting as a bridge between emerging markets and the global tech eco system.

Sharing the country's digital vision, Ishaq Dar said it is our steadfast commitment to building a world class digital infrastructure. He said we are investing in robust connectivity through the expansion of fiber optic networks, cloud infrastructure and digital platforms that ensure scalability and sustainability across the country.

Ishaq Dar mentioned that they are focused on ensuring that digital transformation benefits every citizen and every sector. He noted that this momentum is also fuelling the growth of emerging sectors in Pakistan including Artificial Intelligence, fintech and e-commerce.  

Alluding to the country's demographic dividend, the Deputy Prime Minister said digital services exports have become a cornerstone of our economic strategy.
