A UN human rights expert says Myanmar's military is committing fresh war crimes against ethnic minority populations in Rakhine and Chin states. 

In a statement, UN’s Special Rapporteur on Myanmar’s Human Rights Situation Yanghee Lee said Armed Forces of Myanmar, is inflicting immense suffering on the ethnic communities and is systematically violating the most fundamental principles of international humanitarian law and human rights.

She said Myanmar military’s conduct against the civilian population may amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.
