Professor Dr. Nadia Ali Azfar has said that psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that can be effectively controlled through timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

In an exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan Correspondent Qasim Bukhari on the occasion of World Psoriasis Day, she said the prevalence of psoriasis is increasing over time.

She said the disease can affect men, women and children of any age, causing red patches and white scales on the skin, along with severe itching and pain.

Professor Dr. Nadia Ali Azfar urged people experiencing symptoms of psoriasis to consult a qualified dermatologist and avoid taking medication without medical advice.
