In India, Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi has slammed the Modi government for attacks on mosques and Muslim properties in Tripura state.             

In a tweet, he said Muslims are being brutalised in Tripura while the government is pretending that there is no problem in the state and is turning blind eyes to the suffering of country's largest minority.                                             

More than 15 mosques and several houses, and shops belonging to Muslims have been vandalised and burnt by Hindu paramilitary groups RSS, Vishva Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal across Tripura during week-long anti Muslim violence in the state.
