Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation is organizing a two-day training programme at Radio Pakistan Multan from Wednesday to equip young comperes, radio jockeys, news readers and interns with professional broadcasting and communication skills.

The training is aimed at providing the participants practical exposure and helping them develop skills required for effective and responsible communication.

The initiative carries forward the emphasis placed by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on professional training of young broadcasters.  

Addressing the concluding ceremony of a similar RJ and Broadcasting Internship Training Programme at Radio Pakistan Lahore, the Minister had said effective communication skills are essential in every sphere of practical life and such training helps participants both professionally and personally.

He had expressed the hope that young broadcasters trained by Radio Pakistan would uphold the values of national integrity, professional ethics, institutional norms and social responsibility.

The Information Minister had described the young generation as an asset of Pakistan and said misinformation and disinformation are among the major challenges of the modern digital era, underscoring the importance of professional and responsible communication. The Minister has also emphasized professional and timely communication as an important means of countering misinformation.

Attaullah Tarar had also described Radio Pakistan as the country’s oldest electronic media institution with a remarkable legacy of serving the nation for decades and announced the establishment of a Training Institute at Radio Pakistan Lahore for future broadcasters.

He had further asked female participants of the training programme to prepare a Charter of Demand for prevention of harassment at the workplace and announced honorarium for Radio Pakistan officers associated with the training.

The two-day programme at Radio Pakistan Multan is another step in providing young people opportunities to acquire professional broadcasting skills and prepare themselves for the rapidly changing media environment.
