Head of the Department of Medical Oncology and Radiotherapy, King Edward Medical University / Mayo Hospital Lahore, Professor Dr Abbas Khokhar has stressed early diagnosis and timely treatment of breast cancer for successful treatment.

In an interview with Radio Pakistan Correspondent Qasim Bukhari, he said raising awareness among women and encouraging regular medical examination are essential for early detection.

He said Pakistan has a concerning incidence of breast cancer, with one in every nine women likely to develop the disease during her lifetime.

He said the Punjab government is committed to providing quality healthcare and Mayo Hospital Lahore is providing diagnostic and treatment facilities for breast cancer patients.
