The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) carried out a major crackdown on an illegal call centre in Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, today.

According to a spokesperson for the NCCIA, sixty-one people were arrested, while seventy-one mobile phones and one hundred and fifty-five laptops were seized during the operation.

The detained accused were involved in international fraud through foreign loan recovery scheme and taking extortion by threatening the citizens.

A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.
