Representatives of Sikh community have hailed Pakistan's initiative of opening of Kartarpur Corridor, saying it is a message of peace to India.

Talking to Radio Pakistan's News and Current Affairs Channel, Member Punjab Assembly Sardar Mahinder Pal Singh said the opening of Kartarpur Corridor for Sikhs by Pakistan is a gift which they can never forget.

He said Baba Guru Nanak loved the land of Pakistan; hence, the followers of Sikh religion pay special respect to this soil.

He said Baba Guru Nanak spread the message of peace, and the bridge being constructed at Kartarpur also carried a message of peace between Pakistan and India.

Chairman Baba Guru Nanak Welfare Society Pakistan Sardar Bishan Singh said the announcement of opening Kartarpur Corridor by Pakistan compelled India to reciprocate positively though it did not want so.

He said India must understand the message of peace from Pakistan and take steps in the same direction.
